Avelina Segovia, Director

Avelina Segovia has served as a Director of the Palmview Municipal Development District since January 2025. She is currently serving her first term and is actively involved in initiatives that support the city’s economic growth and development.

Avelina is a graduate of La Joya ISD and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. She has 18 years of experience in public education and currently works as a Project Manager for AIR6 Construction and Management LLC, overseeing residential and commercial construction projects.

She also serves as Vice Chair of Governmental Affairs for the Rio Grande Women’s Chamber of Commerce and has previously held leadership roles with the Hidalgo County Head Start Program. Avelina is committed to fair, transparent decision making and is passionate about strengthening infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and contributing to a stronger future for Palmview.
