Early Voting Continues Through Nov 3

PALMVIEW, Texas (November 1, 2023)Registered voters in Palmview have a few more days to cast a ballot early. Early voting for the November 7, 2023, City of Palmview Special Election runs through Nov 3 at the Palmview Parks & Recreation Gym located at 406 W. Veterans Boulevard.  The remaining early voting schedule is as follows:

Wed.        Nov 1, 2023, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Thurs.      Nov 2, 2023, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Friday,     Nov 3, 2023, 7- a.m. – 7 p.m.

Registered voters in Palmview can cast a ballot to amend the Palmview City Charter Sections 3.03, Subsections (A) and (C), and Sections 3.11, Subsection (C); Section 4.01, Subsection (E); Section 4.05, Subsection (A); Section 5.05, Subsection  (C).

The Proposition Amendments are as follows:

Proposition A

Allows deleting the Place 5 Councilmember seat and giving the mayor power to vote. (Currently, the mayor can only vote in a tie-breaker situation).

Proposition B

Allows the City Council to elect to negotiate and by majority vote provide the City Manager an employment contract.

 Proposition C

Allows for three Municipal Court Judges with one Presiding Judge and two Associate Judges calling for at least one judge to be an attorney.

Proposition D

Allows the City Council to adopt the budget on or before the 29th day of September.

Early Voting runs through November 3 and in Palmview, registered voters can cast their ballot at the Parks & Recreation Gym located at 406 W. Veterans Boulevard, at the Mansion located at 2401 Moorefield Road, or any of the other 27 polling locations across Hidalgo County.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
