Free Income Tax Preparation Services at Palmview Youth Center

PAMVIEW, Texas-The City of Palmview has joined with United Way of South Texas to provide free Income Tax Assistance to individuals and families earning $60,000 or less. It’s part of United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

Last year, United Way had 106 IRS Certified volunteers that offered free income tax preparation services to more than 2500 households – their refunds were more than $5.6 million.  Families and individuals with household incomes of $60,000 or less are eligible for the free service, with only a few IRS-mandated exceptions.

Between now and April 15, volunteers at 16 sites will serve families in Hidalgo and Starr County with Palmview being one of the locations.  Certified IRS volunteers will be at the Palmview Youth Center on Feb 10, March 3, March 10, and April 1.
