PALMVIEW, Texas- The City of Palmview and the Palmview Municipal Development District (PMDD) held a ceremony on April 12 to mark the official start of the Palmview Main Street Project.
The Main Street development is replacing the old Greg’s Ballroom located on the frontage of Interstate 2. The project includes seven commercial lots and a new road that will run north of the Interstate frontage connecting to West Veterans Boulevard.
The seven lots will be ready to build complete with drainage and utility infrastructure. One of the lots has already been claimed for an urgent care facility.
Mayor Rick Villarreal told the dozens of citizens and business members in attendance that this is a huge coup for the city as it will serve as an economic catalyst for the city’s future.
PMDD President Espie Ochoa agreed, thanking former and current PMDD and city leaders for their vision in moving the city forward saying she is proud of the work that has been done to make Palmview better for everyone that lives and visits here.
Construction is now underway and the project should be complete in about 180 days.
