PALMVIEW, Texas- City information is now at your fingertips. The City of Palmview has just launched TextMyGov, a simple communication system using mobile phone text messaging. Residents can now connect with the city from anywhere at any time.
Residents can text in a question/request to the city’s specified number (956) 420-0042 and get a response 24 hours a day seven days a week.
Depending on what residents are trying to accomplish, TextMyGov can provide various types of responses such as:
- Receive quick answers to questions.
- Links will be provided for information found on the city website.
- When reporting an issue to the city, TextMyGov will guide residents through a series of steps that allows them to submit all the necessary information and it even allows them to upload a picture.
Mayor Ricardo Villarreal says TextMyGov will empower citizens to connect with the city from anywhere, save them a trip to city offices, and save them time from waiting on hold.
TextMyGov is super easy to use, simply use keywords such as pay utilities, animal control, permits, potholes, and safety issues. The responses will be quick and available in English and Spanish.
