Palmview City Council Observes National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic Violence Proclamation

PALMVIEW, Texas-It’s an issue that affects far too many people.  Every minute 24 people in the United States are victims of domestic violence.  The victims are from every walk of life and age. That’s why the Palmview City Council has declared October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month reminding the community that help is available.

 Mayor Ricardo Villarreal and the Palmview City Council joined with Palmview PD, The Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office, Mujeres Unidas, and Angles of Love in raising their voices against domestic violence with a proclamation calling for united efforts, more education regarding the resources available, and holding perpetrators accountable.

The proclamation was presented to Palmview PD during the City Council Meeting of October 15, 2024, thanking the department for its continuous efforts to keep the community safe.
