PALMVIEW, Texas- Babe Ruth once said “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.” With a team record of 29-10 and capturing the District, Bi-District, Area, and Regional Quarter Finales Championship the argument can be made that the Palmview High School Lobos Varsity Baseball Team certainly played together and are worth a lot of dimes.
The team and coaches were recognized for their outstanding season and accomplishments by the Palmview City Council during the Council Meeting of June 6.
The varsity team consists of 19 players of which 13 were recognized as All-District in the 30-5A Division. In addition, Mateo Garcia was selected as the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year, and Head Coach Ricky Garcia was chosen as the 2023 All-District 30-5A Co-Coach of the Year.

Jorge Garza, Anakin Robles, Renso Tamez, Gael Gonzalez, Chris Chapa, Derek Garza, Tony Villarreal, Angel Ramos, Jose Alaniz, Chris Perez, Herminio Gonzalez,Joe Cerda, Mario Cantu, Adrian Garza, Josiah Gonzalez, Mateo Garcia, Ray Pecina, Jaxzel Cantu, and Esai Puente.
The coaches are: Head Coach, Ricky Garcia, Assistant Coaches Mario Hernandez, Maeto Garcia, Juan Elizondo, and Abel Garza.
