PALMVIEW, Texas- Palmview Mayor Ricardo Villarreal has issued a disaster declaration in response to the severe weather emergency caused by Tropical Storm Alberto that hit our area on June 19, 2024.
Many roadways were impacted by more than three and a half inches of rain that fell throughout the city. The City’s Public Works crews worked overnight to pump water from neighborhood roadways where water was stagnant.
The declaration issued on June 20 opens the way for state and federal aid should it be made available.
The City declaration comes after similar ones by the State of Texas, Hidalgo County, and neighboring cities.
