PALMVIEW, Texas- With the 4th of July holiday quickly approaching, the Palmview Police Department announces that it will participate in the Impaired Driving Mobilization initiative starting June 21- July 7, 2024. There will be increased enforcement to specifically focus on traffic infractions to reduce crashes and take drunk drivers off our streets.
Drunk driving is dangerous and yet people still choose to get behind the wheel impaired. Last year, on average the state recorded 65 alcohol-related crashes every day. The lives of at least three Texans are taken daily at the hands of those who never thought they would be responsible for a roadside tragedy. That’s why Palmview Police is joining the state-wide effort to #EndtheStreakTX of impaired driving and make it a safe 4th of July holiday for everyone.
The Impaired Driving Mobilization Initiative is a TxDOT program aimed at reducing the number of alcohol-related fatalities on our roadways.
