PALMVIEW, Texas-The Palmview City Council held a special meeting on August 6 to canvass the July 30, 2024, Special Election votes to fill the unexpired term for the Place 2 Council Member seat.
The count required by law, officially declares César Peña Jr. the winner in the three-person race. He received 756 votes compared to Linda Sarabia who received 662 votes, and Esequiel “Zeke” Ortiz, Jr. who received 46 votes.
Surrounded by family and friends, he was sworn in to serve the remaining one year, and 10 months of Jose Luis Perez’s term. Perez resigned in early June due to new policies at his place of employment prohibiting him from holding an elected position.
