PALMVIEW, Texas-The Palmview Police Department will be at PJ’s Coffee shop on Thursday, March 30 to meet and greet residents. Chief Jose M. Trevino and his staff will be on hand from 9-11 a.m. This is the first social event under the new chief whose mission for the department is to be more visible in the community.
The PD is also combining its Coffee with a Cop event with a Social Worker Appreciation moment to bridge the gap between the two professions to better serve the community.
Chief Trevino says they have invited the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Social Work to recognize the educators that help develop our social workers.
Social Workers have become integral partners with law enforcement agencies, especially when responding to calls involving mental health emergencies and other behavioral concerns.
The Coffee with a Cop event will be held at PJ’s Coffee Shop at 1314 W. Palma Vista Drive, Suite 10.
Everyone is invited to stop by and try the new Cold Blue Brew created by PJ’s in honor of the men and women of the Palmview Police Department.
