PALMVIEW, Texas- Sergeant David R. Salinas joined the Palmview Police Department in 2003. December marked 20 years of service to the Palmview community, and the Palmview City Council marked the anniversary by recognizing him during a recent City Meeting.
As a patrol officer, Salinas excelled in traffic enforcement and drug interdiction, earning him a place on the coveted San Juan Law Enforcement Regional Response Team (LERRT)—a position he held until 2016.
In 2011, he became a Criminal Investigator and three years later was promoted to Sgt. heading the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
Sergeant Salinas has received numerous certificates of recognition for his outstanding performance, including an Assistance for Officer Down Call and a Certificate of Commendation for his exceptional investigative techniques.
He is currently the CID Supervisor and also holds the title of Palmview Police Department Evidence Custodian. In addition, he is certified by the Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians. He holds a Master Peace Officer License, the highest license attainable by a Texas Peace Officer.
