PALMVIEW, Texas- In celebration of Earth Day, the City of Palmview has created a Butterfly Garden in front of City Hall. The 26×7 area is a small investment in our planet to provide a haven for endangered butterflies and other insects.
As millions of people across the country show support for environmental protection on Earth Day, April 22, the City of Palmview will unveil the garden during a short ceremony at City Hall.
The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. To get people inspired to take action and take part in saving the planet, the city will hand out seed packets to encourage residents to plant their own plants and flowers.
Meantime, the City of Palmview will once again participate in the Road to Recycling Regional Tire Collection Project. Palmview residents can drop off up to four tires per person on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proof of residency is required and no oversized or tractor-trailers will be accepted. The city will have a roll-off container in front of the portable building between City Hall and the Palmview Youth Center.
The tire collection is another example of how we can clean up our city and help the environment. Every little bit helps.
