PALMVIEW, Texas – The Palmview Police Department has proudly announced the promotion of Zacuk Hinojosa to the rank of Sergeant. This advancement, effective September 7, 2025, comes after Sgt. Ruben Pena’s retirement and marks a new chapter for the department.
Sgt. Hinojosa brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having begun his career in law enforcement with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department. He joined the Palmview Police Department two years ago and has since demonstrated leadership and dedication, qualities that have earned him this new position.
Within the department, Sgt. Hinojosa is now one of four sergeants and joins the ranks of three others assigned to patrol duties. His experience and commitment are expected to greatly benefit the community and the department alike.
During a recent Palmview City Council meeting, Sgt. Hinojosa was formally recognized for his promotion. His family was present to support him and participate in the ceremonial pinning of his new badge, a moment that highlighted the personal and professional significance of this achievement.
