Passport services

Palmview City Hall serves as a Passport Acceptance Facility through the U.S. Department of State.  This initiative was established by the City Secretary, whom provides oversight of the program as Facility Manager and serves as a Passport Acceptance Agent through the U.S. Department of State.

Applications for a U.S. Passport are being processed by appointment only, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.  To schedule an appointment, call 956-432-0319.  Visit www.travel.state.gov for additional information or call the National Passport Information Center (NPIC) at 1-877-487-2778.

Updated Processing Times effective September, 2024:

  • Routine Service: 4-6 weeks
  • Expedited Service: 2-3 weeks

Requirements to apply for a U.S. Passport Book or Card

  • Application (DS-11) (Completed in BLACK INK only and unsigned)
  • Applicant must be present at time of passport application processing
    • Children 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by both parents
      • If one parent is unavailable at the time of the appointment, Form DS-3053 must be completed, notarized and submitted with the application along with a copy of the absent parent's ID (front and back sides of ID).
    • Children 16 & 17 years of age must be accompanied by one parent
    • Applicants 18 years of age and older must present their own valid identification card (ID) or Drivers License
  • Certified birth certificate (long form), Certificate of Naturalization, or Report of Birth Abroad
  • One (1) 2x2 photograph (photos available on-site for $15.00 cash)
  • Valid ID with photo:
    • U.S. Drivers License or Identification Card
    • Visa Laser
    • U.S. Passport Book/Card and/or Foreign Passport
    • Consular I.D. (Matricula Consular)

Fees

Passport fees must be paid only in the form of check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State and will vary based on the type of passport desired.   Processing and photo fees can be in paid in the form of cash to the City of Palmview.  See fees chart.
